Campus Bio-Medico has two features that make it a particularly suitable platform for BTP:
(a) the mission (explicitly stated in the University foundation act) of (re)integrating all different aspects of the person into a unitary frame
(b) the actively fostered interdisciplinary exchanges between biomedicine, engineering, philosophy and other fields.
These features were at the basis of the success of the first foundational work of BTP, the collective book The Future of Scientific Practice: ‘Bio-Techno-Logos’. Looking at the contributors of this book it is clear how this enterprise, starting from a small group of Campus resident scientists, attracted the interest (and consequently the active collaboration) of scientists and philosophers from all over the world.
